Community Connect is a vital program at Ikire Mercy Clinic Foundation (IMCF) that aims to promote healthy living, prevent illnesses, and provide quality healthcare services to our community through free primary healthcare. The program is divided into three categories, each targeting a specific group in our community.

Elderly Connect
Our first Community Connect program focuses on individuals with history of ailments such as Hypertension and Diabetes. On every last Thursday of the month, we offer free Blood Glucose Level and vital signs checks. Patients whose test indicate a need for intervention receive free drugs and are encouraged to register with the Hospital for proper treatment if it is beyond primary care. This program has encouraged hospital visits and has also encouraged healthy living in the community.
Ante-natal Connect
Our second Community Connect program is a weekly and monthly community development program for pregnant women. We provide free antenatal care and delivery services to all pregnant women who attend our Hospital. Since 2020, over 470 women have benefited from this program. We discovered that many pregnant women in our community could not afford laboratory tests, which are essential for healthy delivery. Therefore, we offer free laboratory tests to all pregnant women, encouraging them to attend antenatal care and deliver at our Hospital. This program has reduced maternal and neonatal mortality in our community, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Elders Forum
Our third Community Connect program, also known as the "Elders Forum," aims to reintegrate elders who have returned to our community after sojourning in various parts of the world. We offer monthly lectures, jokes, medical checkups, interactive sessions, and exchange of pleasantries. Most elders have lost their youthful friends and become lonely, which can lead to health issues. Our program encourages socialization, medical checkups, and treatment for unknown ailments. Every last Thursday of the month, we treat the elderly free of charge for various ailments, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and ulcers. We also provide free drugs monthly. Over 70 elderly persons benefit from this program every month.
Community Connect has been a game-changer in our community, providing free quality healthcare services to those who need them most. However, we need more funding to sustain and expand these programs. We appeal to individuals, organizations, and government agencies to support us in our mission to improve the health and well-being of our community. Together, we can make a difference and create a healthier, happier community for all.
