PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Basic Function

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Pharmacy Technician to assist our pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care at Ikire Mercy Hospital. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in pharmacy operations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.

Requirements

  • Academic: Minimum academic qualification of Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
  • Professional License: Must have a valid and updated practicing license
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of working experience.
  • Computer skills: Candidate must have good knowledge of computer
  • Registration: The ideal candidate must be a member of the relevant professional body.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Pharmacists in preparing and giving out prescribed medications
  • Take doctor’s prescription for patients
  • Answering prescription-related questions
  • Educating patients and caregivers on the appropriate use of medication, including frequency and method of intake or application.
  • Helping patients purchase their prescriptions.
  • Referring patients to the pharmacist for more in-depth medical questions related to prescriptions.
  • Assist in managing Pharmacy inventory.
  • Processing medical insurance claims.
  • Ensuring medications are properly stored.
  • Filling and labeling of medical containers.
  • Maintaining of sufficient stock of all needed medications.
  • Checking the quality and the sources of drugs before dispensing
  • To ensure and adhere to standard pharmacy safety measures and checks, etc.
